| As a result of the preaching and healing meetings in the 1930’s of evangelist Aimee Semple, thousands of converts were added to local congregations. In 1941, a group of believers decided to fully identify with the denomination the evangelist had founded, The International Church of the Foursquare Gospel. Property was secured on Palm Avenue, and a pioneer pastor was appointed to shepherd the flock that began worshiping and serving there in a simply constructed building with sawdust floors and wood burning stoves. That building was renovated and enlarged a number of times to serve the Foursquare family that met there for more than 38 years. |
