| Founded by C.K. Wakefield and William Lambert in 1927 as Lambert & Wakefield, the company began business as a real estate brokerage and insurance firm. Upon the death of Bill Lambert, Mr. Wakefield was joined by son-in-law James A. Hopper, and in 1939, Wakefield & Hopper was born. In the late 1940’s, responding to the rise of real estate appraisal as a separate profession, the company changed its direction, focusing exclusively on the valuation of real property. |
