| Opened in 1982 as a place to buy and sell coins, bullion, currency and jewelry. It was truly a mom and pop operation in the early days. The advertising budget was thin, I remember as a young child driving to work with mom and dad. The first thing we did was park across the street on Blackstone (in front of Continental Market) and we would hang a big orange sign on the back of our Chevy truck and camper shell. My father created a flyer to hand out and we delivered it door to door in 1982. I chuckle when I think of our early efforts to gain customers. In the first few years Steve Sr. began selling Fisher Metal Detectors because it was a natural for people who wanted to find coins, jewelry or gold in nature. |
